Clinical Pilates

Private, Assessment-Led Pilates.

Not a Class

If you're dealing with pain, recovering from injury or surgery, managing a chronic condition, or you simply want movement that's built around your body rather than a room full of people — this is for you. Clinical Pilates at BWC is one-on-one, personalised, and led by assessment, not choreography.

This isn't a studio class with modifications shouted over your shoulder. It's private work, built on a proper understanding of your history, your goals, and how your body is actually moving right now.

That's why every client starts with an Initial Assessment. Before we build a program, we need to know what we're building it for — your history, your restrictions, what's irritable, what's not, and what you're actually trying to get back to. Guesswork isn't part of this.

We don't run ads and we don't oversell this service. It's quiet, word-of-mouth work — reflected in our 5-star Google reviews from Invercargill and Otago clients who came for a result, not a vibe.

Who This Is For

✔️ New mums wondering where their core went ✔️ Midlife women navigating menopause, surgeries, or just years of putting everyone else first ✔️ Grandmothers (yes, you!) wanting to play and stay dry doing it

This is coaching for women who've done the hard things — and are ready to feel good moving again. Whatever brought you here, the starting point is the same: we look at your body properly, then build around it.

The Initial Assessment

60 minutes | $220

This session is the foundation for everything that follows. In it, we cover:

  • A full discussion of your history — injuries, surgeries, conditions, pain patterns, and what's brought you in

  • A movement and postural screen, so we can see (not just hear) how your body is functioning

  • A clear conversation about your goals — what "better" actually looks like for you

  • Your first reps, tailored to what we find, so you leave having already started

You'll leave with clarity on what's going on, and a plan for what comes next.

After your assessment

If ongoing sessions are the right next step, you'll move into week-to-week 30-minute sessions at $100 each. There's no minimum term, no bundle to commit to, and no payment plan to sign up for. You book what you need, when you need it, and you can pause or stop at any time — no notice period, no penalty.

This keeps things simple: you're only ever paying for the next session, and only if you want it.

What to Expect

Do I need to bring anything? Just wear something you can move in. Bring any relevant scan reports or specialist notes if you have them — they help, but aren't essential.

What if I need something other than a 30-minute session? The Initial Assessment is the only fixed format. From there, ongoing sessions are 30 minutes. If your situation calls for something different, we'll talk about it directly rather than fitting you into a pre-set option.

Can I really stop anytime? Yes. There's no minimum term and no lock-in. Come weekly, fortnightly, occasionally, or just for the assessment — the choice stays yours throughout.

Do I need a referral? No referral is required to book. If you're working with a GP, physio, or specialist, we're happy to liaise or align with their advice where relevant.

What's the cancellation policy? We ask for at least 9 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made within that window aren't eligible for a credit.
