It’s me when you walk into class (but it’s not just me)

Camelle Pink | OCT 24, 2025

It was 5.32pm.

Normal Tuesday.

I’m setting up the studio for our 5.45pm Barre class.

From where I’m standing I can see the playlist queuing up on my laptop - curated over the weekend while sorting out the new class management system.

There’s a voice note from my reel editor waiting for me to review after class.

My coach’s message from this morning is still open on my phone - the one that helped me simplify what felt impossibly complicated yesterday.

The choreography I worked through on Thursday is ready to teach tonight.

And in 13 minutes, you’ll walk through that door.
When you show up to class, it’s me teaching.
When you email asking about modifications, it’s me replying.

When you DM on Instagram, it’s me responding.
But it’s not just me.

The sequences I teach come from years of training across New Zealand - opportunities I get to say yes to because I chose this structure over scaling bigger.

The way I cue movements comes from years of training and certification.

The way I am building this thing that we do together comes from my coach and this community challenging me to think bigger and communicate clearer.

My friends and family make space for me to pour energy into you when you walk through the door, even when that means weekend choreography sessions and late-night admin.

The contractor editing reels (and if you know a local teen who fancies themselves a creator, send them my way!) helps me show up online so you can find us.

I work Mon-Wed-Fri in financial advice. I teach Tuesdays and Thursdays. I dance Mondays and Wednesdays.

Weekends are for movement, food, banter with people I love, and building the helpful stuff I didn’t get to earlier in the week.

It’s where I have space to think.

I know I’m lucky. No little people relying on me. No mortgage to service. That freedom means I get to prioritize training and putting my full energy into our time together.

Sometimes it makes me feel behind - like I should have “more” by now. But logically, I know everyone’s on their own timeline.

And honestly? I’m not trying to build an empire. I’m trying to build a community.

Every tool I’m creating right now is through the lens of connection, not complexity.

Spending less time “doing business” and more time doing what matters - moving with you, creating with you, building something real together.

There’s something that happens when we all show up in person. Something you can’t replicate on Zoom or through a screen. A pulse. A presence. A remembering.

That’s what I’m most excited about - the community we’re building together with every class you come to.

I could have a big studio, a team of instructors, multiple locations. I could scale this thing.

But I am not there. Instead I am surrounding myself with a life team.

And that life team makes it possible for me to be fully present with you when you walk through that door at 5.32pm on a Tuesday, nervous about trying something new, wondering if you belong.

You do belong. And I’m here because I chose to be.

The goal isn’t to be everywhere. The goal is to be fully HERE.

I am solo in how I run this business. But I’m never alone in making it happen.

It’s all a choice.

And I choose this.

See you in class,

Camelle x

P.S. Next time you walk into the studio, know that it took a whole life team to make that moment feel effortless. Thank you for making it worth it.
